How Licensing Works
A plain-language guide to bringing one of these plays to your stage.
Who can license these plays?
Performance rights are available for universities, schools, community theatres, festivals, workshops, staged readings, and independent productions. Every play in the catalog is currently available.
How do I request rights?
Email Upstage Left Press at upstageleftpress@gmail.com — every play page has a one-click request button that pre-fills the play’s name. Include your organization, intended dates, venue capacity, and whether the production is full, reading, or classroom use.
Can I read a script before committing?
Yes — perusal and review copies are available to directors, literary managers, and educators on request. Four of the plays can also be read immediately in When Churchyards Yawn and Other Plays (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle).
What about classroom and excerpt use?
Classroom scene packets, monologues for actor training, teaching and discussion guides, and performance excerpts are available for educational programs — see For Educators.
Can Jeanmarie be involved in our production?
Workshop visits and guest discussions can often be arranged around productions and educational programs — mention it in your rights request, or contact jeanmaries@arizonatheatrematters.org directly.
Which play fits my company?
Use the catalog filter: solo works for one performer (20–80 minutes), chamber plays for 2–4 performers, and ensemble works for 6–12. Each play page lists staging difficulty, running time, and technical requirements at a glance.
