Amigas was a two-woman performance adapted from a book of letters between the expatriate Chilean poets Emma Sepulveda and Marjorie Agosin. Jeanmarie played Marjorie; L. Martina Young portrayed Emma. Agosin, whose family fled the Holocaust, speaks Yiddish with a Chilean accent.
The Road to Mecca was directed by Zakes Mokae, a South African director with lived Apartheid experience, closely connected to Athol Fugard’s iconic work.
