Her play about Jeannette Rankin premiered Off-Broadway at The Culture Project and was adapted into a film featuring Judd Nelson, the voices of Martin Sheen and Patricia Arquette, and music by Joni Mitchell.
It toured to 53 countries across five continents and earned the Best Theatrical Surprise award from Sacramento News and Review. Jeanmarie performed it at CalArts as a Surdna Distinguished Guest Artist.

Jeanmarie performed HERETIC, The Mary Dyer Story, from 2011 to 2019, and voiced Mary Dyer again for the 2020 film.
After five years of performing it, the piece continued to reveal new dimensions of Mary Dyer’s story and of human nature. It remains available to licence as a solo play.
Most of the plays now available to licence began as something Jeanmarie performed or directed. Macbeth at Piper’s Opera House became Mackers. Shakespeare’s Will became Ghosts of the Gilded Stage. A Single Woman became Flight of the Dove.
