The solo performance explores the life of Mary Dyer, hanged in Boston on 1 June 1660 for being a Quaker. She was banished for her faith and executed for refusing compliance.

After five years of performing it, the piece continued to reveal new dimensions of her story and of human nature. Jeanmarie played it for eight years in total, and voiced Mary Dyer again for the 2020 film.
